Donald L. Scott Jr., age 58 of Sauk Centre, died unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at the River of Life Church in Sauk Centre with Pastor James Smith officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church in Sauk Centre.
Donald Leon Scott Jr. was born September 6, 1954 in Minneapolis to Donald Sr. and Delores (Noren) Scott. On January 22, 1999 he married Karen Otte. Donald owned and operated Classic Roadsters II in Sauk Centre until 2008. He then worked for Ace Hardware as store manager for three years. During that time, Donald had a radio show during Aunt Sara's Partyline on KASM called "Ask a Handyman". Within the past six months, he was in the process of starting his own business venture. Donald enjoyed his grandchildren, singing and watching T.V. His heart was in restoring cars and tractors. Donald was known for having the ability to fix anything. He was also very proud to become an ordained Minister to marry his daughter, Sara and her husband, Tim in August. Donald was a member of Isaac's Well Church in Sauk Centre.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Scott of Sauk Centre; children, Amy (Dan) Juelich of Coon Rapids, Jenny Kile of Sauk Centre, Bill (Tiffany) Scott of Sauk Centre, Matt (Samantha) Scott of Albany, Steve Balamut of Duluth, and Sara (Tim) Lunneborg of Bloomington; grandchildren, Jourdan Kile, Nicholas, Jackson and Thomas Juelich, and Melena and Samuel Scott; sister, Char (Declan) O'Brien of Andover; mother, Delores Warren of Minneapolis; mother-in-law, Alberta Otte of Sauk Centre; and step-mother, Rose Scott of Minneapolis.
Donald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Imogene and William Scott; father, Donald Scott Sr.; sisters, Kellar Larson and Jodi Gorton; father-in-law, Harold Otte; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Harris.
Serving as casket bearers will be Shawn Fridgen, Derek Uhlenkamp, Tim Baxter, Chris Weisser, Tim Greninger and Eric Capps.
