As a seventeen year- old, he began playing in Minor Leagues. His greatest claim to fame was when he had the opportunity to pitch to Ted Williams. He also played baseball with Yogi Berra! In 1945, Don joined the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served during World War II. Upon returning home, Don began doing carpentry work. Don helped build homes and office buildings and had a great gift in crafting beautiful furniture. He seemed to be able to do whatever he set his mine to doing.
