Donald C. "Donnie" Fenzel, age 67 of Grey Eagle, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at his home in Grey Eagle, Minnesota.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle with Robert Brophy officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle.
Donald Clarence Fenzel was born May 1, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa to John and Bernice (Witt) Fenzel. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Gloria Habedank on March 18, 1967 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clinton, Iowa. Donnie held a variety of jobs in the area including Swift's and a local gas station and truck stop. He moved to East Moline, Illinois where he was employed at a locker plant and a creamery. Donnie spent 17 years working at Jennie-O Turkey Store in Melrose before his retirement. He enjoyed reading, tinkering in the tool shed, and collecting various items. He also loved gardening, especially flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Fenzel of Grey Eagle; children, Norma Jean (David) Brightenfield of Tucson, Arizona, Aaron Fenzel of Royalton, Charmin Fenzel of Grey Eagle, and Kimberly (Cesar) Garcia-Menendez of Long Prairie; five grandchildren, Bradie, Darren, Blake, Josh, and Scott; and sisters, Vera Noordt of Clinton, Iowa, Shirley Leon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Nancy Housenga of Greenfield, Indiana.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Arnold Fenzel; and sister, Florence Handy.
