Dolores C. Wehlage, age 83 of Greenwald died surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 10 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Women will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
Dolores Wehlage was born April 2, 1921 in Greenwald, Minnesota to Leo and Caroline (Nathe) Schwieters. She was united in marriage to Edmund Wehlage on June 5, 1945 in Greenwald. The couple farmed three miles west of Greenwald and retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and Christian Women of Greenwald. Dolores enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers and playing cards with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Edmund Wehlage of Greenwald; children, Karen Rademacher (Richard) of New Munich, Jane Bierschbach (Marvin) of St. Joseph, John Wehlage (Sandra) of Rockville, James Wehlage (Ruth) of Greenwald, Ruth Searcy (David) of Sauk Centre, Joan Johnson (Kevin) of Coon Rapids and Robert Wehlage (Judy) of Greenwald; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Loretta Meyer (Frank) of Albany, Sally Uphoff (Vess) of Avon, Herbert Schwieters (Aurelia) of Greenwald, Anthony Schwieters (Anna Marie) of Greenwald, Charlene Ohmann (John) of Greenwald, Jeanette Barten (Alvin) of Marshalltown, IA and Joan Ehresmann (Jerry) of St. Cloud; sisters-in-law, Selma Tschida of Meire Grove and Jean Wehlage of Pierz.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Rose Schwieters.
Serving as casket bearers will be Karl Rademacher, Kevin Bierschbach, Joe Wehlage, Steven Wehlage, Michael Searcy and Sam Johnson. Serving as cross bearer will be Aaron Wehlage and scripture bearer will be Pam Wehlage. Honorary bearers will be Christian Women of Greenwald.
