Dianne L. Halverson, age 70 of Sauk Centre, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Christ St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico after battling an infection following a surgery related to her battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas and Rev. Dave Solberg officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Dianne Louise Nohrenberg was born July 12, 1943 in Canby, Minnesota to Elmer and Louise (Larson) Nohrenberg. Dianne graduated from Dawson High School and went on to Mankato State College, graduating in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. In the fall of 1965 she started teaching third grade at Sauk Centre Elementary School. Dianne married Bruce Halverson on July 22, 1967. She dedicated her life to her handicapped son, Jeffrey as well as her other children and husband. Dianne enjoyed camping and traveling and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Bruce Halverson of Sauk Centre; five children, Jay, Krista, Lori (husband, Jason Thom), Jeffrey, and Scot; five grandchildren, Nicole, Olivia, and Logan Thom and Emily and Anna Peters; and brother, Larry Nohrenberg.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Louise Nohrenberg; infant brother, Clifford; brothers, Everett and Russel; and twin brother, Dennis.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jay Halverson, Scot Halverson, Ken Rafteseth, Diane Kelly, Harold Nelson, and Bruce Rindahl.
