Dennis Loxtercamp

Dennis J. Loxtercamp, age 75 of Big Lake, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his home in Big Lake, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Mark Stang officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Monticello and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Parish prayers will be at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the church in Monticello.

Dennis John Loxtercamp was born March 23, 1938 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Alois and Cecelia (Zenzen) Loxtercamp. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School and continued his education to be a Depot Engineer. Depot Engineers were no longer needed and he continued his career to woodworking, where he worked for 42 years at H.C. Osvold. On October 29, 1961 he married Rosalie "Rosie" Fiedler at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Dennis worked for the Brooklyn Park Fire Department for 22 years. Throughout his life, he lived in Northeast Minneapolis, Brooklyn Park and Big Lake, Minnesota. Dennis enjoyed traveling, working, furniture making, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Monticello.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalie "Rosie" Loxtercamp; children, Lisa Emery of North Minneapolis, Greta (Raymond) Witzman of Princeton, and Marty Loxtercamp of Silver Creek; grandchildren, Kimberly and Cody Witzman, Alyssa and Anthony Emery; and siblings, Roger (Rosella "Rosie") Loxtercamp of Rogers, Eugene (Patricia "Pat") Loxtercamp of Sauk Centre, and Lucille (Paul) Jager of Waseca.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Cecelia Loxtercamp.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chad Loxtercamp, Chris Loxtercamp, Trevor Jager, Anthony Emery, Cody Witzman, and Jim Boggess. Cross bearer will be Kimberly Witzman and scripture bearer will be Alyssa Emery.
