Dennis Johnson

Dennis Robert Johnson, age 69 of Sauk Centre and formerly of Foley died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A military graveside service was held at 12 Noon on Thursday, Sept. 22nd at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Dennis was laid to rest with the dignity of military honors and a flag line provided by the Patriot Guard and other veteran bikers who chose to honor and attend his service proudly displaying American flags.

Dennis Robert Johnson was born April 29, 1947 in Duluth, Minnesota. He was the son of Dorothy Bernice (Miller) and Dennis Frederick Johnson. Dennis served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry - his service included one year in Vietnam and one year in Germany. Following his military service, Dennis began working for the United States Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier.

A special thank you to CentraCare Hospital Staff, the community of Sauk Centre for care that was provided to Dennis. To the children of Holy Family School, thank you for coming to the Eagle's Healing Nest to sing Christmas Carols. This event allowed Dennis to celebrate Christmas in a positive way for the first time since his time in Vietnam.

Dennis leaves behind his sister, Janet Shannon of Cloquet; special friend, James Spoden; and his entire Eagle's Healing Nest Family.
