Delores J. Sunderman, age 84, of Melrose, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, MN.
Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 1 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Ken Thielman officiating and Rev. Vince Lieser concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Delores Julia Gruber was born December 11, 1925 in Lake Henry Township, Stearns County, MN to Michael L. and Ida (Jaeger) Gruber. She married Hubert Sunderman on August 26, 1947 in Lake Henry, MN. Delores farmed north of Melrose all her life with her husband. The couple resided at Park View Apartments for the last three years. Delores enjoyed playing cards, telling jokes, spending time and socializing with family and friends. Delores was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Sunderman of Melrose; daughters, Sharon (DeWayne) Mareck of St. Cloud, Beverly (Dale) Radermacher of Monango, ND, and Debra (Charles) Uphoff of Melrose; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchidren; brother, Mike (Rosie) Gruber, Jr. of Belgrade; sisters, Lenora (Eddie) Kampsen of Litchfield, Erma (Jim) Rieland of St. Cloud, and Pat Wensman of Paynesville; and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Wensman and Bonita Gruber.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Wendy Radermacher; brothers and sisters, Florence DeMorett, Bergetta Lieser, Virgie Durant, Urban Gruber, Marcellus Gruber, David Gruber, and Shirley Gruber.
Serving as casket bearers will be Scott Mareck, Kurt Mareck, Brent Mareck, Jody Kirchner, Troy Radermacher, and P.J. Beuning. Serving as cross bearer will be Chantel Beuning. Gift bearers will be grandchildren. Eucharistic Ministers will be Diane Budde and Duane Lieser. Readers will be Chantel Beuning and Troy Radermacher. Eulogy will be read by Kurt Mareck.
