Delores E. Roering, age 89 of Grey Eagle, died peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Grey Eagle.
Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church in Grey Eagle.
Delores Elizabeth Dolence was born June 19, 1924 in Birchdale Township, Todd County, Minnesota to Andrew and Josephine (Berscheit) Dolence. She was united in marriage to Robert McClintick on June 6, 1943 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. They resided in Grey Eagle in 1969 until he passed. Delores was united in marriage to Lawrence Roering in 1975. They lived together in Grey Eagle until he passed in 1983. In 1948, Delores started working at Fuller Company, the local general store in Grey Eagle. She continued to work for the owners that followed. Her daughter, Beverly and son-in-law, Lanae McDermond purchased the store in 1974. She worked for them along with many friends and family members until she retired in 1998 when they sold McDermond's Supermarket.
Delores loved playing cards and was known for baking her famous carmel rolls. She would give them away to her friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many others. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Christian Mothers.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Lanae) McDermond of Grey Eagle; grandchildren, Kelly (Bryan) Allen of Burtrum, Bradley (Brenda) McDermond of Grey Eagle, Kara (Craig) Rademacher of Freeport, Amy (Cale) Johnson of St. Joseph, Heather McClintick of Cody, WY, and Renee (Eric) Johnson of Omaha, NE; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Rohde of Grey Eagle and Marge Hinman of Grey Eagle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert McClintick; daughter, Lisa Marie McClintick; second husband, Lawrence Roering; son, Robert "Bobby" McClintick; sisters, Kathryn Woodman and Theresa Sobota; brothers, Robert, Paul, Joseph, and Andrew Jr. "Andy".
Serving as casket bearers will be Brad McDermond, Bryan Allen, Craig Rademacher, Cale Johnson, Eric Johnson, and Grant Allen. Cross bearer will be Carver McDermond and scripture bearer will be Renee Johnson.
