David Klar

David A. Klar, age 83 of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Community Memorial Home in Osakis, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 6 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in the Bohemian Cemetery, rural Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to services.

David Klar was born January 13, 1926 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Hugo and Anna (Kloubec) Klar. He served in the U. S. Air Force before attending St. John's University, Dunwoody Institute, and the University of Minnesota and then returned to the family farm near Padua. Upon his retirement he moved to Sauk Centre and for the past two months had resided at Community Memorial Home in Osakis.

He was a former member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Padua.

Survivors include his sister, Evelyn (Donald) Chisholm of Huntington Beach, California; two nieces, Barbara and Nancy Chisholm, both of Irvine, California; two nephews, Stephen (Frances) Bender of Fremont, California and Scott Bender of Seattle, Washington; great-nephews, Alexander Yu and Stephen Bender, Jr.; great-nieces, Tracy, Lisa, and Mary Bender; great-great-nephews, Jackson Ross Bender and Fox Conrad Langdon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Josephine Bender.

Serving as casket bearers will be Don Ripka, Al Loehr, Dave, Tony, and Eugene Jennissen, Merlyn Gritzmacher, and David Wiener.
