Darlene E. (Folk) Meier, age 71, of St. Cloud, formerly of Sauk Centre, died peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 23 with Deaf Ministry held at Faith Lutheran Church, 3000 County Road 8 SE, St. Cloud. Pastor Bill Knaack will officiate with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in St. Cloud.

Darlene Elnora Meier was born June 17, 1946 in Melrose, Minnesota to Ervin and Daisy (Cheadle) Meier. She attended the Faribault School for the Deaf. She was an avid Minnesota sports fan, especially of the Wild, Vikings, and Twins. She would always keep track of the score throughout every game on her own stat sheets. Darlene enjoyed word search puzzles, board games, cross stitching, and perler beading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene was a wonderful sewer and had made many teddy bears and life jackets through her profession. She loved playing card games, especially "Brul" with her friends and Phase 10, which she never lost. She also enjoyed visiting with all of her friends and family.

Darlene was a member of the Deaf Ministry held at Faith Lutheran Church and the St. Cloud Deaf Club.

Survivors include her children, Marlene (Leo) Folk-Schlangen of Rockford, John (Sara) Folk of Fremont, WI, Nancy Folk of St. Cloud, and Robert "Rob" (significant other, Hollie) Folk of Sauk Rapids; 12 grandchildren, Zachary Cole, Logan and Kenadie Schlangen, Morgan, Taylor, Bailey, and Sydney Folk, Natasha Folk, Seth and Chase Wozniak, and Desiree and Kallie Folk; six great-grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Ken (Connie) Meier, Alfred (Julie) Meier, Linda (Greg) Desrosiers, and Rodney (Ruth) Meier.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Carol Meier.

Serving as casket bearers will be Zachary Cole, Chase Wozniak, Natasha Folk, Desiree Folk, Kallie Folk, Seth Wozniak, Morgan Folk, Taylor Folk, Bailey Folk, Logan Schlangen, Kenadie Schlangen, and Sydney Folk.
