Daniel Koetter

Daniel J. "Danny" Koetter, age 47 of St. Joseph, formerly of Meire Grove, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at the REM Central Lakes Group Home in St. Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 28 at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove with Rev. Ken Brenny and Deacon Mark Zenner officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at church in Meire Grove. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Melrose.

Daniel Koetter was born September 9, 1958 in Sauk Centre to Lawrence and Florentine (Thielen) Koetter. He was a graduate of Melrose High School. Danny had a love for people which was shown by his gentleness and acceptance of all. As a sports enthusiast he enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Survivors include his brothers and sisters; Tom (Joyce) Koetter of Hudson, WI, Bill (LuAnn) Koetter of Ashburn, VA, Kathy (Dave) Jesh of Long Prairie, and Carolyn (Gary) Klaphake of Lafayette, CO; nieces and nephews, Paul and Ann, Matt and Michelle, and Jackie and Jessica.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florentine Koetter, and two infant brothers.

Serving as casket bearers will be Ralph, Mark, Steve, Al, Paul and Matt Koetter. Cross bearer will be Ann Platson. Scripture bearer will be Rebecca Koetter. Honorary bearers will be REM Central Lakes Group Home Staff.
