Curtis J. Swift, age 59 of Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Mayville, North Dakota, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota after a long battle with lymphoma.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 21 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Rev. Kathy Schuler will officiate with entombment following in Greenwood Cemetery, with his parents.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Curtis Swift was born March 2, 1948 in Glenwood, Minnesota to Kenneth and Helene (Rousselange) Swift. He attended elementary school in Sauk Centre, Minnesota until the family electrical contracting business moved to North Dakota. Living, working, and attending schools in various small towns throughout the state, he graduated from Mayville High School in 1966. He then attended Mayville State College before serving with the North Dakota National Guard. Upon completion of his service, he ran a contracting business in Denver, Colorado. After a few years he returned home to join the family electrical business and also served as a deputy sheriff for Traill County. He took great pride in all of his work, especially the bridge projects of his current employer, Industrial Builders.

Survivors include his children; two sisters, RoseAnn (Larry) Hoff of Audubon, Minnesota, and Elizabeth Swift of Gardner, North Dakota; brother, Gerald (Deborah) Swift of Mayville, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Special thanks to his daughter, Amanda, who was his personal caregiver during the past two years while Curtis was undergoing cancer treatment.

Serving as casket bearers will be his nieces and nephews.
