Crystal Sieben

Crystal B. Sieben, age 78 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Crystal Sieben was born April 25, 1930 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Stanley and Elsie (McKellip) Gardner. On November 22, 1951 she was united in marriage to Paul Sieben at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. While Paul served in the National Guard, the couple moved to Camp Rucker, Alabama where they lived for 22 months. They moved back to Sauk Centre with a new addition to the family, their son John. A few years later, the family welcomed Mary, and then Kathy. Crystal worked as a secretary at Holy Family School, St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre Clinic, and St. Michael's Hospital.She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. Crystal also served as past president of the Sauk Centre Country Club and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 67. She was an avid golfer and also loved cooking, reading magazines and cookbooks, and playing cards.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Sieben of Sauk Centre; children, John Sieben of Minneapolis, Mary (Gerry) Hansen of Hayward, Wisconsin, and Kathy Sieben of Coon Rapids; sister, Pearl Zutter of Sauk Centre; and brothers, Cliff (Connie) Gardner of Clarkston, Washington, Gene (Elaine) Gardner of Ramsey, and Jim (Sheila) Gardner of Forada.

Crystal was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Imogene Holm and Evelyn Bailey.

Serving as honorary bearers will be the Christian Mothers and Crystal's Bridge Club, Doraine Pauly, Alice Peters, Janet Kranz, Rhoda Ostendorf and Edna Polipnick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Holy Family School.
