Corrine L. Sanden, age 86 of Sauk Centre (formerly of Mahnomen), passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Galeon Nursing Home in Osakis, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Mark Botzet officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Beaulieu, Minnesota following the lunch.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Corrine Louise Haider was born in Mahnomen County, Minnesota on September 25, 1938 to John Jr and Rose (Schoenborn) Haider. She attended country school through the 8th grade. From 1956 to 1960, she was employed as a house maid in Detroit Lakes.

On May 17, 1960 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Sanden at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beaulieu, Minnesota. After their marriage, they lived in and around the Mahnomen area. On September 3, 1971, LeRoy passed away leaving Corrine with four young children to raise. In 1973, she attended Detroit Lakes Vo-Tech School and graduated as a small engine mechanic. Corrine and her family moved to their home in Stearns County on September 1, 1974. She did many different jobs to earn a living for herself and her family and wasn’t afraid of work. She was always willing to try new adventures to make a living without assistance.

Corrine’s biggest goal and reward in life was taking a literacy course and getting her GED in 1991 as well as working a network marketing business.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers. Corrine’s hobbies were dancing, gardening, and tending to flowers. Anything she could do was an accomplishment.

Survivors include her children, John Sanden of Alexandria, Brian Sanden of St. Cloud, Rose Anne Sanden of Hutchinson, and Judy Judes of Montrose; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Valeria Becker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Delores Remmick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and brother, Dennis Haider of Waubun.

Corrine was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Sanden; parents; infant daughter, Mary in 1971; brother, Melvin (Lillian) Haider; sister, Celestine “Sally” (Matt) Neisen; brothers-in-law, Gerald Becker and Elmer Remmick; and father and mother-in-law, Roy and Anna Sanden.

Corrine’s family would like to thank CentraCare hospice nurses, Galen Nursing Home, family and friends, and the communities she lived in that supported her.
