Corinne "Connie" Wurst Schriver of Grey Eagle died at age 80 in her home. She was born on June 4, 1925 in Greenwald, Minnesota to Theodore Wurst and Louise (Weismann) Wurst. Mrs. Schriver attended P.S. 51 (St. Andrew's School), graduated from Melrose High School, attended St. Cloud State College for one year and was a graduate of the School of Journalism of the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis. She was employed by the State Bank of Greenwald as Director and Cashier until her retirement in January of 1965.
Corinne was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Grey Eagle. She was a director of the Big Birch Lake Association and the Greenwald Director of the Melrose Area Historical Society. Additionally, she was a member of St. John's Associates and the Grey Eagle Library Association.
Corinne married Lawrence Schriver on January 28, 1993 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu. Connie and Larry were year round residents of Big Birch Lake and were devoted to its preservation. They were generous contributors to numerous charities and environmental groups. Larry preceded Connie in death on April 21, 2001.
Mrs. Schriver is survived by her brother Robert Wurst of Naples, Florida and Thief River Falls; one sister, Carol Kelly of Denver, Colorado; six nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bernice Jacobs; and one niece, Paula Kelly.
The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Grey Eagle. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 from 4-8 PM and one hour before mass on Wednesday morning. Internment will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Greenwald
