Charles J. Imdieke, age 71 of Sauk Centre, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Jim Maderak officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with the Knights of Columbus praying a rosary at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning at the church.
Charles John Imdieke was born September 19, 1946 in Melrose, Minnesota to Otto and Elizabeth (Williams) Imdieke. He grew up on a farm near West Union, Minnesota. Chuck graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1965. He started his life long career as he would say of "playing in the dirt" with Cook Construction Co., in Minneapolis, where he was a 49er. In 1975 Chuck started his own successful business, Imdieke Excavating. Later he designed sewer systems for Pischke Excavating and then Ilgen Excavating. Chuck really enjoyed what he did and never considered retiring. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and winters out west. He loved spending time with his children and adored his two new little grandsons that he waited so long for. He will live in the hearts of his family who will always remember him for his great sense of humor and his generous heart.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Bishop Busch Council #4863 Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his 3 children; Casey (Lisa) Imdieke, Kilauea, HI; Gretchen (James Klicpera) Imdieke, Kilauea, HI; Brian (Jennessa) Imdieke, Duluth, MN; two grandchildren, Henry Imdieke and Arlo Klicpera. Brothers and sisters, MaryKay Imdieke, St. George, Utah; Tim Imdieke, Alexandria, MN; Dan (Cathy) Imdieke, Linton, ND; Margaret (Stuart) Cross, Minneapolis, MN; Dave Imdieke, Sauk Centre, MN; Donna (Gary Marthaler) Imdieke, West Union, MN; Hermie (Jane Zirbes) Imdieke, Sauk Centre, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.
