Charles "Chuck" Harris, age 73, died peacefully at his home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota on July 19, 2017 with his wife, Joyce at his side.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28th at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Father David Grundman presiding.
A gathering of friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.
Charles Stuart Harris was born March 19, 1944 in Marshall, Minnesota, the son of Floyd L. and Arleen B. (Jungman) Harris. He attended school in Morris and graduated from West Central School of Agriculture. He attended Saint Cloud State University where he studied Psychology. On December 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Marilyn C. Otte in Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. Marilyn and Chuck enjoyed 44 years of marriage before her death on July 7, 2011. Chuck worked as a salesman for National Bushing Auto Parts for 35 years. On October 3, 2013, Chuck was united in marriage to Joyce Lee Knoblauch.
Chuck had a strong passion for classic cars, restoring old homes, and collecting antiques. He was an active member of MSRA - Minnesota Street Rod Association where he held membership #124 and the Rock City Rods in Saint Cloud. The last 13 years of his life, Chuck spent many hours restoring, building, and finishing his beloved Elm Street home in Sauk Centre.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; his twin sisters, Jan (Joel) Koopman of St. Louis Park, Minnesota and Judy (Don) Lind of Overland Park, Kansas; step-daughter, Nikola Knoblauch; step-son, Karl (Becky) Knoblauch; step-granddaughters, Peyton Knoblauch and Andi Knoblauch; sister-in-law, Janet Hovland (Stan Nielsen); nieces, Ann (Rob) DeHoff and Susan (Todd) Hoffman; nephews, Tom (Constance) Koopman and David (Deb) Lind; other relatives and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; and his parents, Floyd and Arleen Harris.
Memorials are preferred to Community Legacies Foundation (600 Main Street South, Sauk Centre); a nonprofit organization for the betterment of the Sauk Centre community - honoring the hometown Chuck loved so much.
