Cecelia A. "Ceil" Loxtercamp, age 97 of Elrosa, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Jeff Ethen officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 6 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Cecelia A. Zenzen was born December 25, 1914 in Lake George Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Emilie (Scholz) Zenzen. On November 10, 1936 she married Alois Loxtercamp at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, Minnesota. The couple farmed north of Elrosa from 1936 until 1965, when they moved to Elrosa.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa and the Christian Mothers. Ceil enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, sewing, baking, and attending church activities. She loved spending time with her family and serving delicious meals.
Survivors include her children, Dennis (Rosalie) Loxtercamp of Big Lake, Roger (Rosie) Loxtercamp of Rogers, Eugene (Pat) Loxtercamp of Elrosa, and Lucille (Paul) Jager of Waseca; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Laura) Zenzen of Meire Grove; sister, Sister Rachel Zenzen of Little Falls; sister-in-law, Selestia Zenzen of Melrose; and many nieces and nephews.
Ceil was preceded in death by her husband, Alois Loxtercamp on January 23, 1993; parents; infant sister, Magdelina Zenzen; and brothers, Edwin Zenzen, Richard Zenzen, and George Zenzen.
Serving as casket bearers will be Gina Loxtercamp, Chad Loxtercamp, Chris Loxtercamp, Lisa Emery, Greta Witzman, Marty Loxtercamp, Trevor Jager, Jami Juras, and Jim Boggess. Cross bearer will be Brook Loxtercamp and scripture bearer will be Kalista Jager. Gift bearers will be Haley Moog, Isabella Loxtercamp, Alyssa Emery, and Kim Witzman and the readers will be Trevor Jager and Jami Juras.
