Catherine M. Uhlenkamp, age 95 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 6 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. James Statz officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Padua.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Catherine Mary Laumeyer was born August 22, 1916 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Theresa (Walters) Laumeyer. On September 14, 1937 she married Carl Uhlenkamp at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald. The couple farmed in Raymond Township until their retirement in 1974 and Catherine moved to town in 1997.
Catherine was a member of Our Lady of the Angel's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, Christian Mothers and the Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing cards, working puzzles, meeting with her birthday club, Christmas parties, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Ernest (Bernice) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre, David Uhlenkamp of Greenridge, Missouri, Cora (Julian) Wiener of Sauk Centre, Donald (Marlene) Uhlenkamp of Northeast Minneapolis, Lyle (Marilyn) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre, Alice Wanderscheid of Sauk Centre, Vernon (Irene) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre, Roger (Cindy) Uhlenkamp of Villard, Robert (Lois) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre, and Patrick (Joni) Uhlenkamp of Sauk Centre; 40 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Rita (Orlin) Tolfison of Inver Grove Heights, Regina Smith of Dilworth, and Tony (Loretta) Laumeyer of Osakis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Uhlenkamp on February 2, 1985; parents; grandchildren, Kenny Wiener, Marie and Charles Uhlenkamp, and Marie Uhlenkamp; daughter-in-law, Hazel Uhlenkamp; brothers and sisters, Ben Laumeyer, Henry Laumeyer, Marie Lardy, Hubert Laumeyer, Margaret Wolbeck, Alcuin Laumeyer, and infant brother, George Laumeyer.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ryan Uhlenkamp, Brian Uhlenkamp, Tom Uhlenkamp, Ty Uhlenkamp, Randy Uhlenkamp, and Kevin Uhlenkamp. Cross bearer will be Jo Ann Kleinschmidt and scripture bearer will be Barbara Smith. Honorary bearers will be Catherine Schmiesing, Dorothy Bieringer, Catherine Claussen, Donna Jacobson, Nancy Robinson, Bernice Proell, Rose Searcy, Carol Struss, Francis Terhaar, Shirley Short, Marie Wiener, Ron Robertson, and Arlene Veeder.
