Cassidy M. "Cass" Kraker, age 30, of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2010 at his home in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
Cassidy Michael Kraker was born September 17, 1979 in Melrose, Minnesota to Michael and Loretta (Uphus) Kraker. He graduated from Melrose High School in 1998. Cass enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, boating, frisbee golf, and looking for agates. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends, playing cards, dominoes, and spending time at the family cabin. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
Survivors include his parents, Mike and Etta Kraker of Melrose; brothers, Chad (Greta) Kraker of Clear Lake, Corey Kraker of Swanville, Chris Kraker of Melrose, and Cody Kraker of Melrose; nieces and nephews, Cole, Alexa, Skylar, Riley, Preston, and Alex Kraker; grandparents, Lorraine Kraker of Melrose and Francis and Marilyn Uphus of Greenwald; special companion, Tanya Johnson of St. Cloud; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cass was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Kraker.
Casket bearers will be Cass's brothers, Chad, Corey, Chris, and Cody Kraker. Cross bearers will be Skylar and Alexa Kraker and scripture bearer will be Cole Kraker. Mass servers will be Kayla Uphus and Jacob Uphus. Gift bearers will be Brenda Bailey and Theresa Kortan. Eucharistic Ministers will be Jean Anderson, Gail Schlicht, and Anne Judovsky. The reader will be Marilyn Uphus.
