Carol E. Meyer, age 80 of Monticello, died on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins from the effects of Alzheimer's Disease.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 13 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. James Statz will officiate with interment following in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
Carol Meyer was born on March 23, 1923 in Westport Township, Pope County, Minnesota to Albert and Anna (Nugent) Cordell. She attended school in Sauk Centre and graduated in 1940. On January 7, 1945 she married John Meyer at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. After retirement the couple resided in Arizona from 1993 to 1998. In 1998 the couple moved to Monticello and for the past two and one-half years she had resided at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins.
She is survived by husband, John Meyer of Monticello; three sons, John (Blythe) Meyer of Grand Ronde, Oregon, Tom (Joann) Meyer of Eden Prairie, Jim Meyer of Minnetonka; daughter-in-law, Sue Meyer of Carver; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Don (Betty) Cordell of Logmont, Colorado, Jim (Vida) Cordell of Mesa, Arizona, Shirley (Larry) Pierson of Plymouth, Jan Mealer of Eden Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Pat Meyer; brother and sister, Vern Cordell and Marilyn Bachman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Alzheimer's Assocation, 919 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611.
