Carol Goihl

Carol M. Goihl, age 72, of Melrose died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Carol Goihl was born January 9, 1934 in Melrose, Minnesota to Oswald M. and Elizabeth (Hackman) Botz. She married John H. Goihl on June 1, 1957 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Carol was a life long resident of Melrose and was employed by St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years. She was an avid reader and internet shopper. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Rochelle (John) Clausen of St. Paul, Scott Goihl of Minneapolis, and Jeff (Annette) Goihl of St. Paul; and one granddaughter, Lauren Clausen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John H. Goihl on February 24, 1990; daughter-in-law, Anne Sullivan Goihl; and brothers, Neil and Virgil Botz.Serving as casket bearers will be Jeff, Scott, Dave, Gordy and Dan Goihl, and John Clausen.
