Carol L. Biskey, age 72, of Long Prairie, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 after a long battle with cancer at her home in Long Prairie.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Clarissa with Pastor Melissa Ehrhardt officiating. Interment will be at Bearhead Union Cemetery in Bruce Township, Todd County,
MN.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church in Clarissa.
Carol LaVern Blummer was born April 22, 1938 in Buffalo, MN to Dewey and Marie (Deisting) Blummer. On September 22, 1956 she married Robert Biskey at a Lutheran church in Buffalo, MN. Carol worked at Northwestern Bell in Buffalo and later became a housewife and mother. She later was a school bus driver in Long Prairie and worked at DAC in Browerville for 24 years. She was involved in Luther League, band, choir, yearbook editor, WBA and mixed league. Carol enjoyed gardening, canning, juicing, deer hunting, fishing, watching football, and driving her diesel tractor. She had a knack for fixing things. She would repair old computers, fix TV's and radios, and repaint and repair cars. She was an achiever and a "do it right" kind of person who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Biskey of Long Prairie; children, Joey Biskey of Duluth, Kari June (Ron) BiskeyLanger of Little Falls, Cassie Carol (Steve) Hansen of Chetek, WI, Scott Robert Biskey of Browerville, and Tracy Alan Biskey of WI; and 12 grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teri Lee Biskey; and nephews.
Serving as casket bearers will be Willy Lade, Don Rasmussen, Ryan Kasper, C.J. Biskey, John Niemeyer and Dr. John Romstad.
