Camillus Latzka

Camillus A. "Jack" Latzka, age 91 of Melrose died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Melrose Area Hospital. A private memorial service was held Friday, October 21 at the Pine Villa Chapel in Melrose. Rev. Ken Thielman officiated.

Jack was born April 13, 1914 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Marie (Grein) Latzka. After high school he served in the U.S. Marines until retiring from the military in 1957. He held Civil Service positions for the State of Missouri for 20 years. He loved to dance and enjoyed watching sports events and spending time with his family and friends. Jack was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, and while living in Missouri he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Nunnally and her husband, Ron of Birmingham, AL; granddaughters, Melanie Nelson and her husband, Steve of Dothan, AL and Celeste Wright and her husband, Patrick of Glencoe, AL; sister, Kitty Latzka of Melrose, eight nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Mary Jacobs and her husband, Vernon of Melrose.

Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Latzka on April 2, 1952; and second wife, Mary Margaret Linders.
