Bruce D. Schwanke, age 46 of Grey Eagle, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.
Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. Friday, May 22, 1009 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Carol Skjegstad officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
Bruce Donald Schwanke was born June 8, 1962 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Eugene and Dorothy (Warner) Schwanke. He graduated from Grey Eagle High School in 1980 and worked on the family farm until 1987. While owning a hobby farm, Bruce worked at Jennie-O Foods and Engle Fabricating. He spent 7 years working with his brother and sister-in-law at Schwanke's Hog Wild Ranch in Grey Eagle and most recently was a truck driver.Bruce was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grey Eagle. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. He enjoyed working on tractors, cars, and trucks.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Schwanke of Sauk Centre; sister, Diane (Chuck) Seifert of New Hope; brothers, David (Betty) Schwanke of Grey Eagle, and Brian Schwanke of Hill City, South Dakota; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Schwanke on May 31, 1988; and grandparents, Walter and Katie Schwanke, and Margaret Warner.
