Brian “BT” Toenyan, age 48 of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday, April 23, 2021 at his home in Melrose, Minnesota.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Arockiya Newton officiating and Deacon Ernie Kociemba assisting. A private family inurnment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Melrose.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Brian Daniel Toenyan was born December 29, 1972 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Gary and Sandra (Moore) Toenyan. He attended Melrose High School graduating with the Class of 1991. Brian worked at various places including driving truck for Toenyan Oil Co. in Melrose, Centre Power Sports in Sauk Centre, Jennie-O Turkey Store in Melrose, and Melrose Metal Works.
Brian loved spending time with family and friends and being at the cabin with bonfires. He also looked forward to deer hunting with his hunting party. His heart was huge and soft. If he had a penny, he would give you a nickel. Brian was always looking out for people he knew. He had a heart of gold and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and Sandy Toenyan of Melrose; brother-in-law, Mark Fiedler of Sauk Centre; nephew and Godchild, Adam Fiedler (Becky Klaphake) of Alexandria; niece, Kirsten Fiedler (Anthony Santana) of South Minneapolis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Fiedler in 2018; grandparents, Justin and Darlene Toenyan and Ralph and Jennie Moore; and cousin, Taylor Toenyan in 2016.
Serving as urn bearer will be Mark Fiedler. Cross bearer will be Adam Fiedler and scripture bearer will be Kirsten Fiedler. Readers will be Jessica Toenyan and Michelle Mace. Eucharistic Ministers, Deb Welz and Kayla Schulzetenberg. Honorary bearers will be Dustin Welz, Brandon Toenyan, Scott Hallermann, Chad Hallermann, Paul Schulzetenberg, Chad Gaebel, Jamie Moore, Erik Moore, and Brandon Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lisa Fiedler Foundation for Families.
