Bonnie Marie Steinhauser, age 77 of Grey Eagle died on Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Melrose Area Hospital.
The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Arlie Sowada officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle.
Bonnie Marie Steinhauser was born on February 20, 1926 in St. James, Minnesota to Charles and Minnie (Malmgren) Gratz. She attended the St. James Catholic School for 8 years and graduated from the St. James High School. She was united in marriage to Ervin Steinhauser on January 25, 1947 at the St. James Catholic Church in St. James, Minnesota. Bonnie owned and operated Bonnie's Cafe in Mountain Lake from 1969 to 1991. She retired and moved to Grey Eagle in 1991 where she was a housekeeper for the St. Joeseph's Catholic Church parish rectory. Bonnie was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle, Christian Mother's and the St. Frances Mission Circle. She was also the site manager at the Senior Center in Grey Eagle and an active volunteer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church which she enjoyed very much.
Survivors include her two sons, Charles "Chuck" Steinhauser and his wife, Debra of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Thomas Steinhauser of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; sister, Patricia "Tootie" Gore of St. James; 5 grandchildren, Chad Steinhauser of Phoenix Arizona; Leah Aichele of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Ciarra Steinhauser, Courteney Steinhauser both of New Ulm and Christopher Steinhauser of Kona, Hawaii; 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan Steinhauser of Phoenix, Arizona; Maia Aichele and Caylan Aichele of Colorado Springs, Colorado; special friend, John Gerads of Grey Eagle.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Steinhauser on June 9, 1989, son; Rob Steinhauser, and sister, Marion Behrends.
Serving as the urn bearer will be Bernice Tschida. Leah Aichele will serve as the cross bearer and the scripture bearer will be Patricia Gore. Honorary bearers will be the members of the St. Frances Mission Circle.
