Beverly Ann Wilkens, age 75 of Sauk Centre died surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 30 at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church in Sauk Centre.
Beverly Ann Wilkens was born March 13, 1937, in Dickinson, North Dakota. The daughter of Jacob and Fayetta (Nichols) Johnson. She grew up and attended grade school in Stark County, graduated in 1954 from Model High School in Dickinson, North Dakota and attended Dickinson State College for two years.
She married John C. Wilkens on September 14, 1958, at Daglum Lutheran Church in New England, North Dakota.
She worked at the Dairy Queen in New England from 1958 to 1959, Hettinger County Herald in 1959, bookkeeper for Western Implement in 1960, and drove school bus for Zenker-Wilkens bus line from 1968 to 1975. In 1973 she started selling Avon; Beverly sold Avon until 1989 when she moved to Sauk Centre, Minnesota. From 1989 to 2011 she was a bookkeeper for Thull Construction in Greenwald, Minnesota.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
She is survived by her four children, Darla Stanford of Galveston Texas, Wesley (Sheila) Wilkens of Parshall, North Dakota, Jana (Mark) Quade of Sauk Centre Minnesota and Starla (John) Arceneau Belgrade; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Beau, Kayla, Brandon, Brett, Santana, Shania, Cory and Colton; one great grandson, Dawson Wolbeck; and two great granddaughters, Samantha and Rylee Wilkens.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; two sons-in-law, Michael Salveson and John Stanford; her parents; brothers, Jack Jr. and Wiley Johnson; sisters, Shirley Kasberg, Ardath Nichols, Bonita Duncan and Roberta Kivimagi.
Serving as Pallbears will be Fred Arceneau, Dick Thull, John Neussendorfer, Dick Kivimagi, Lyle Kovar, Dean Pearson, Jody Olson and Jim Weber. Honorary Pallbears will be Jack C. Johnson, Bill Narum, Linus Thull, Wayne Thull, John Kuntz, Bob Walch, Dick Schaeffer, Duane Clark, Bernard Green and her very dear friends.
