Beverly A. Butkowski, age 76, of Melrose, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 29 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa with Rev. Roger Klassen, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church in St. Rosa. Beverly Adelle Pangburn was born November 6, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Clarence and Ruth (Madison) Pangburn. On June 20, 1953 she married Roger H. Butkowski at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. After their marriage, the couple resided in St. Paul for 15 years. In 1960, the couple moved to the St. Rosa area and bought a farm. Since April of 2008, Beverly resided at Pine Villa Care Center. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa and the Christian Mothers. Beverly enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She cleaned the St. Rosa Catholic Church for many years. She took great pride in her housekeeping duties at the church and parish house as well as caring for and arranging plants and flowers inside the church.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Butkowski of Melrose; children, Lyle Butkowski of Melrose, Susanne Watts (companion, Bill Stone) of Hastings, Sheila Petermeier of Melrose, Leslie (DeLores) Butkowski of Osakis, and Lawrence (Kim) Butkowski of St. Rosa; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Flo) Pangburn of Hesperia, CA, Curtis (Cele) Pangburn of Sauk Centre, Russell Pangburn of Zimmerman, Patricia (Lloyd) Ohme of Richfield, Marcia (Vernon) Lindback of Farmington, Sandy (Larry) Koska of Richfield, and Hope Skalsky of Big Lake.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Ransom Butkowski; sisters and brother, Grace Crepau, Bob Pangburn, Gail Pierce, and Delores Shanley.
Serving as casket bearers will be Nick Watts, Nate Watts, Aaron Hanauer, Adam Petermeier, Mike Butkowski and Steve Pangburn. Cross bearer will be Madison Butkowski and scripture bearer will be Kaleigh Butkowski. Honorary bearers will be the Christian Mothers.
