Betty Von Wahlde

Betty L. Von Wahlde, 72, of West Union died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union with Rev. Andrew Marthaler and Rev. James Statz concelebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Betty Von Wahlde was born December 18, 1932 in Ashley Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Ole and Rose (Dusek) Odegard. She was united in marriage to Edward B. Von Wahlde on September 14, 1954 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union. They lived in Villard for a couple of years moving to West Union in 1958. Betty enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read cookbooks and bake. In her spare time she collected coins and made scrapbooks.

Survivors include her husband, Edward Von Wahlde of West Union; children, Linda Marthaler (Tom) of Sauk Centre, Barbara Bentfield (George) of Sauk Centre, Ronald Von Wahlde (Michelle) of Puyallup, WA; sisters and brothers, Bernice Massmann (Ervin) of Sauk Centre, Victor Odegard (Merina) of Sauk centre, Rosalyn Tabor (John) of St. Paul Park, Norbert Odegard (Judy) of Sauk Centre; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Rose Odegard.

Casket bearers will be Jeff Marthaler, Daryl, Kyle and Tricia Bentfield, Brian Bromenshenkel and Josh Springer. Cross bearer will be Angela Marthaler. Honorary bearers will be St. Anne's Christian Mothers.
