Betty O'Donnell

Betty E. O'Donnell, age 77 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 30 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Deacon Lawrence Kaas officiating. Inurnment will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date.

Friends may call one hour prior to service on Saturday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Betty O'Donnell was born August 19, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Andrew and Suzanna (Marko) Oleyar. Betty was the first of her Slovakian family to be born in the U.S. She married Robert G. O'Donnell on August 4, 1953 in Iowa. She worked various jobs while also raising her family. She was involved in the VFW and Legion Auxiliaries. Betty enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and socializing.

Survivors include her children, Patrick O'Donnell and his wife, Linda of Monticello, Suzanne Laurel and her husband, Mark of Seattle, Washington, and Lisa O'Donnell and her husband, Jeff Phipps of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Nolan and her husband, Chris, Isaac, and Molly O'Donnell, Anne and Gregory Laurel, Sierra and Savanna Phipps; and niece, Janice Rae Aasen and her husband, Dave of Minneapolis.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother; sister; and husband, Robert O'Donnell.

Memorials are preferred to St. Michael's Hospital Foundation in Sauk Centre.
