Betty Lou Monroe (Zamora), age 45 of Melrose, died on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at the Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, February 20 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose with Rev. Joe Williquette officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose.
Betty Lou Monroe was born on October 20, 1963 in Riverside, California to Frank and Amparo (Ortiz) Zamora. Betty's family took numerous trips from California to Minnesota and liked it so much, she decided to move in 1999. On April 12, 2003 she married Greg Monroe at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Their daughter Natalie was Betty's pride and joy. Betty was a loving mother, wife, and friend.She took pride in what her mother taught her, crafting and cooking, especially her authentic Spanish meals. She had a wonderful sense of humor and stated she received everything she wanted: a wonderful husband, a beautiful daughter, and a home of her own.
Betty will be greatly missed by her husband, Greg Monroe of Melrose; daughter, Natalie Monroe; siblings, Debbie (Brad) Theis, Alex (Cindy) Zamora, Rosie Anderson, Delores (Max) Hudson, Frances Chapman, and Cathy Burt and her children, Lura and Bryan; her father and mother-in-law, Mark and Mary Monroe; sisters-in-law, Melissa Monroe and Lisa (Chris) Atkinson; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
