Bernice A. "Bernie" Wiehoff, age 87 of Melrose passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at the CentraCare Health Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2019 with inurnment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
Bernice Ann Krebs was born on July 26, 1931 in Albany, Minnesota to Ben and Anna (Solinger) Krebs. On August 22, 1950 she married Ralph "Curly" Wiehoff at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Bernie worked at Chicks Supper Club in Melrose, was co-owner with her husband at Curly's Bar in Melrose and worked at Ernie's Jubilee in Melrose. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering her time at St. Mary's School and Park View Center in Melrose. She was great at preparing wild game like pheasant.
Bernie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose where she sang with the choir for many years and Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Dennis) O'Reilly of Lake Stevens, Washington, and Terry (David) Jacobs of Surprise, Arizona; grandchildren, Michael (Rita) Fabeck of Melrose, Jeremy (Megan) Jacobs of Wittman, Arizona, Elisa (Danny) Evander of Surprise, Arizona, and Meghan (Michael) Torrence of Twenty Nine Palms, California; seven great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Howard (Rosie) Krebs of Albany, Beatrice (John) Hockert of Wadena, Rita (John) Schneider of Albany, Delphine (Blaine) Carey of Minneapolis, and Eileen Schiemann of Melrose.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ralph "Curly" Wiehoff on October 27, 2017; daughter, Kim Fabeck; parents; brothers, Donald Krebs and Kenneth Krebs; sisters, Doreen Gerads, and Hazel Habiger.
