Bernice Kuefler

Bernice A. Kuefler, age 82 of Sauk Centre, formerly of Elrosa, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers at 7 p.m.

Bernice Angeline Duevel was born June 20, 1929 in Melrose Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Helen (Schmidt) Duevel. On September 22, 1953 she married Joseph Kuefler at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed near Elrosa until retiring and moving to Sauk Centre in 1984. Bernice loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bernice was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre and the Christian Mothers.

Bernice is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Kuefler of Sauk Centre; children, Gary (Sue) Kuefler of St. Joseph, Nancy (Ken) Rausch of Prior Lake, Leon (Joan) Kuefler of Elrosa, Mark (Karen) Kuefler of Belgrade, Karen (Craig) Deadrick of Clear Lake, Dale (Paula Erie) Kuefler of St. Cloud, and Wayne Kuefler of Elrosa; grandchildren, Tracy, Brent, and Derek Rausch, John (Kim), Emily (Andy), Kevin, and James Kuefler, Perry (Danielle) , Preston, and Shyan Kuefler, and Jordan, Bryan, and Kelli Deadrick; great-grandsons, Noah and Landon Kuefler; brothers, Edmund (Mary Jane) Duevel, Ervin (Denice) Duevel, and Joseph (Dorothy) Duevel, Jr.; and sister, Lorraine (Herbert) Schmidt.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Duevel; brother, Jerome Duevel; and daughter-in-law, DeNile Kuefler.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jordan Deadrick, Perry Kuefler, Preston Kuefler, John Kuefler, Brent Rausch, and Derek Rausch. Cross bearer will be James Kuefler and scripture bearer will be Kevin Kuefler. Serving as gift bearers will be Shyan Kuefler and Kelli Deadrick. Readers will be Tracy Rausch and Emily Hadley.
