Bernice E. Davis, age 82, of Sauk Centre died Thursday at the St. Michael's Hospital, Sauk Centre.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Faith Baptist Church, Sauk Centre with Rev. Ron Hemsworth officiating. Private interment will be in Milton Cemetery, Milton, Wisconsin.

Friends may call one hour before services Tuesday at the church in Sauk Centre.

Bernice Davis was born on September 9, 1921 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin to Frank M. and Evelyn (Cushman) Bowen. She was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. She married C. Allison "Al" Davis on August 29, 1944 in Milton, Wisconsin. They lived in California for five years and then Billings, Montana for 10 years. They moved to Duluth, where they lived for 5 years and then Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 10 years. They moved to Watertown, Wisconsin where they lived from 1976 to 1986. They then moved to Sauk Centre, and since November of 2003 she was a resident of St. Michael's Nursing Home, Sauk Centre. Bernice was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Sauk Centre Seniors.

Survivors include her son and daughter, James Davis (Sandra) of Eden Prairie and Alice Olmschenk (Daniel) of Rice; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Gwen Heinz of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and a half-sister, Joellyn Rinnander (William) of San Mateo, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. Allison Davis on Dec. 10, 1999.

Honorary bearers will be Daryl Buerman, Jim Palmquist, Jim Kazlauckas, David Illy, Gene Peterson, and Bob O'Brien.
