Beatrice M. Veeder, age 99 of Sauk Centre, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 12 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church Monday morning.
Beatrice Lindemann was born December 30, 1910 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Bernard "Ben" and Cecelia (Hansen) Lindemann. She married Richard E. Veeder on October 31, 1935 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They farmed south of Sauk Centre and moved to town in 1944. She had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home for the past eight years. Beatrice enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, and visiting with neighbors.
Beatrice was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary.
She is survived by two children, Richard (Lynn) Veeder of Alexandria and Helen Veeder of Atwater; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Vearrier of Sauk Centre, Jacqueline (Larry) Smith of Eagan, John (Lisa) Veeder of Sauk Centre, Pamela (fiancé, Pedro Sarmiento) Thompson of Sauk Centre, Kathryn Spencer of Wausau, Wisconsin, Tammie (Paul) Froland of St. Cloud, Cindy Veeder of St. Cloud, and George Veeder, Jr. of Brooklyn Center; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel Amundsen, Joseph Vearrier, Katelyn Spencer, Chelsea Spencer, Christopher Veeder, Megan Veeder, Hannah Froland, and Nicole Thompson; sisters, Alma Brownie of Little Falls and Virginia O'Malley of St. Cloud; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Veeder; special friends and former daughters-in-law, Gwen Veeder and Arlene Veeder.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Veeder on October 14, 2001; son, George Veeder; sisters, Mary Wenzel Bennight, Rose Miller, Abbie Doege, Theresa Klapperich, and an infant sister; and brothers, Michael, Aloysius, Casper, Joseph, Tony, and John Lindemann.
Serving as casket bearers will be John Veeder, Christopher Veeder, Joseph Vearrier, Larry Smith, Pedro Sarmiento, and George Veeder, Jr. Cross bearer will be Nicole Thompson and scripture bearer will be Megan Veeder.
Memorials are preferred to Holy Family School.
