Beata C. Frieler, age 91, of Greenwald, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Tom Becker officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church in Greenwald. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m. followed by the Lake Henry American Legion Auxiliary at 7 p.m. and immediately following will be a rosary by the Greenwald Christian Women and the St. Andrew's Catholic Aid.

Beata Catherine Loxtercamp was born February 19, 1919 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to George and Mary (Kampsen) Loxtercamp. On February 24, 1941 she married Paul Frieler at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald. The couple farmed near New Munich for seven years then near Greenwald until 1977. In 1996, Beata moved to Melrose. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and playing cards.Beata was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald, Lake Henry American Legion Post 612 Auxiliary, Greenwald Christian Women, and the St. Andrew's Catholic Aid.

Survivors include her children, Dick (Gerri) Frieler of Lake Henry, Jerry (Jane) Frieler of Cold Spring, Joyce (Roger) Welle of Greenwald, Mary (Jim) Schaefer of Greenwald, Lois (Ken) Schaefer of New Munich, Andrew Frieler of Spring Park, Joe (Wanda) Frieler of Savage, Allen (Tammy) Frieler of New Hope, and Charles (Bonnie) Frieler of Eden Prairie; daughter-in-law, Pat Frieler of Sauk Centre; 26 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren; and brother, Ray (Ermenia) Loxtercamp of Lake Henry.

Beata was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Frieler on October 2, 1977; sons, Michael Frieler in 1977 and LeRoy Frieler in 2010; grandson, Jason Schaefer; brothers, Herman, Ben, Al, Joe, Henry, Fred, Leo, Otto, and Anthony; sisters, Sr. Georgetta Loxtercamp and Rose Uphoff.

Casket bearers will be Beata's sons, Dick, Jerry, Andrew, Joe, Allen, and Chuck. Cross bearer will be Madison Frieler and scripture bearer will be Tammy Squires. Honorary bearers will be the Greenwald Christian Women & the St. Andrew's Catholic Aid.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
