Arthur B. "Art" Miller, age 89 of Sauk Centre, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be held at 5:15 p.m. followed by St. Paul's Catholic Aid at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Art Miller was born January 10, 1920 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Clara (Nierman) Miller. On June 13, 1944 he married Loretta Meyer at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove. The couple farmed in Getty Township, Stearns County until 1994 when they moved to Sauk Centre.

Art was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and St. Paul's Catholic Aid. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and John Deere tractors. He participated in community blood drives and had donated over seven gallons of blood.

Survivors include his six children, Dorothy (Richard) Middendorf of Melrose, Mary Baca of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Walter (Clarinda) Miller of Montgomery, Judy (Steve) Meemken of Sauk Rapids, Linda (Greg) Utesch of Rochester, Lois (Gary) Gaudette of Plymouth; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Regina Wiek of Richfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta A. Miller on September 15, 2003; and sister, Sr. Barbara Miller, OSB.

Serving as casket bearers will be Virgil, Dennis, Greg, and Leon Middendorf, Wesley and Brian Miller, Mike Meemken and Shawn Gaudette. Cross bearer will be Amy Voigt, scripture bearer will be Tammy Middendorf, and gift bearers will be Jenny Minette and Lucy Hagemeier.
