Arnold H. Pfarr, age 91 of Sauk Centre, died Monday, March 15, 2010 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Rebecca Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Arnold Henry Pfarr was born June 27, 1918 in Ivanhoe, Minnesota to Henry and Mamie (Milke) Pfarr.
Arnold met Gladys Anderson while working at the New Brighton Arsenal and on July 7, 1952 they were married in Nashua, Iowa. Arnold worked for the city of Maplewood for 20 years. The couple resided in Maplewood until 1981 when they retired to Sauk Centre. Arnold enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and traveling to Texas in the winter. He had attended First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his son, Henry (Jean) Pfarr of Minneapolis; daughter, Beverly (Roger) Adair of Mounds View; four grandchildren, Jenny and Jamie Pfarr, Jeremy (Jessica) Adair, and Carrie Adair; and one great-granddaughter, Riley Gilbert-Pfarr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys Pfarr on November 4, 2009; son, Terry Pfarr; brother, Robert Pfarr; and sisters, Irene Nikolaisen and Rose Dalton.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeremy and Jessica Adair, Carrie Adair, Jenny and Jamie Pfarr, and Jeff Otte. Honorary casket bearers will be Marvin Cranston and Raymond Cranston.
