Armella J. Eveslage, age 92 of Greenwald, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 23 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Omar Guanchez officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church in Greenwald. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, and St. Andrew's Catholic Aid Society at 5:15 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Armella Josephine Miller was born April 17, 1919 in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Catherine (Nietfeld) Miller. On May 17, 1938 she married Leo Eveslage at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. They farmed until 1977 when they retired and moved to Greenwald. Armella enjoyed playing cards, quilting, cooking, going to the lake home in Nevis, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald, Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, and the Catholic Aid Society.
Survivors include her children, Marilyn (Conrad) Welle Villella of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jerry (Jane) Eveslage of Waconia, Jim (Judy) Eveslage of Alexandria, Dan (Rita) Eveslage of Greenwald, Mark (Jan) Eveslage of Avon, and Cathy Rose of Montrose; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Fr. Joe Miller of Nevis; and son-in-law, Donald Thull of Minneapolis.
Armella was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Eveslage on Sept. 14, 2005; parents; daughter, Doreen Thull; grandchildren, Vincent Thull, Michelle Welle Kulzer, and Jamie Eveslage; brothers, Matt Miller and Fr. Henry Miller; sisters, Sr. Gordian Miller, Julianna Miller, and Leona Mehr; and son-in-law, Daniel Welle.
Serving as casket bearers will be Jeffrey Eveslage, Steven Eveslage, Sara Rausch, Jill Partington, Melissa Erkkila and Jennifer Hargadine. Cross bearer will be Denise Jones and scripture bearer will be Gregory Lindgren. Readers will be Karla Reinhardt and Jodi Benson and petitions will be read by Amy Archuleta.
