Ardis P. Fuchs, age 85 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Sauk Centre Seniors will pray at 4 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5:15 p.m. and United Auxiliaries at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ardis Fuchs was born September 4, 1922 in Wolf Lake, Minnesota to Perly and Anna (Stangeland) Anderson. On February 15, 1945 she married Robert "Bob" Fuchs at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena. The couple resided in Albany and Long Prairie before moving to Sauk Centre in 1955. She was a licensed practical nurse and was employed by St. Michael's Hospital and later by Sauk Centre Public Schools. She retired in 1979, was later called back to work, and retired again in 1984.She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Sauk Centre Seniors, Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 67 Auxiliary. She was very active in the veteran's organizations and volunteered at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration Medical Center for many years. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in their sports activities.

Survivors include five children, Gary (Carol) Fuchs of Lakeville, Gayle (Gary) Bergstrom of Temple, Texas, Clayton Fuchs of Orono, Darwin (Dawn) Fox of Maple Grove, and Janelle (Tom) Meyer of Sauk Centre; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Chad & Nathan Bergstrom, John and Kathryn Fox, Dustin and Ethan Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Corey, Zachary, Nicholas, and Kyrie Bergstrom; brothers and sister, Marvin (Shirley) Anderson of Wolf Lake, Orlin (Marlene) Anderson of Foley, and Lillian (Elwood) Erickson of Anoka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Fuchs on January 10, 1998; brothers, Glenn, Vernon, and Lloyd "Bobby" Anderson.

Serving as casket bearers will be Gary Fuchs, Clayton Fuchs, Darwin Fox, Jeff Bergstrom, Dustin and Ethan Meyer. Cross bearer will be Kathryn Fox and scripture bearer will be John Fox. Honorary bearers will be Chad and Nathan Bergstrom and members of the Sauk Centre United Auxiliaries.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
