Anton M. "Tony" Rademacher, age 97, of Melrose, died peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Jeff Ethen and Rev. Ken Thielman officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Catholic Aid Society will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Anton M. Rademacher was born June 13, 1908 in St. Anthony, Minnesota to Carl and Frances (Benolken) Rademacher. He was united in marriage to Anna M. Beste on May 9, 1933 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. They farmed near Elrosa until 1971 when they retired and moved to Elrosa. They resided at Parkview Center from 1991 to 2003 when they moved to Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. He was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, and Catholic Aid Society. Anton enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
Survivors include his children, Carol Peters of West St. Paul, Curtis Rademacher (Rita) of Dayton, Dale Rademacher (Jane) of Sauk Centre, Lowell Rademacher of Marshall, Keith Rademacher (Judy) of Hutchinson; daughter-in-law, Barb Rademacher of Sauk Centre, son-in-law, Harry Engle of Winsted; 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Gothard Rademacher (Irene) of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Rademacher on January 24, 2005; son, Junior Rademacher; daughter, Liane Engle; brothers and sisters, Norbert, Paul, Tom and Larry Rademacher, Barbara Gasperlin, Petronella Rademacher, Henrietta Ostendorf, Bertha Voller, Ann Voller, Marie Schiffler and Rose Rolfes; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be David Peters, Pat Engle, Christopher, Mike, Gary, Brian, Kent and Justin Rademacher. Cross bearer will be Jacob Rademacher. Scripture bearer will be Lori L'Hommedieu. Lector will be Duane Peters and gift bearers will be Jane, Dale and Barb Rademacher.
