Anton L. "Tony" Notch, age 94 of Sauk Centre, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Rev. Todd Schneider will officiate with interment following in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Tony Notch was born April 22, 1914 in Lake George, Minnesota to John and Gertrude (Bierschbach) Notch. On October 14, 1940 he married Evelyn Wander at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. The couple farmed near Elrosa until retiring and moving to Sauk Centre in 1984. Since February he had resided at St. Michael's Nursing Home.Tony enjoyed playing cards and visiting. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Notch and daughter, Helen Notch, both of Sauk Centre; numerous nieces and nephews who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Matt and Joe Notch; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Henry Wander.
Serving as casket bearers will be Clem Doll, Marvin Jonas, Joe Ritter, Darrell Kloeppner, Dale and Bob Hens. Cross bearer will be Norb Notch and honorary bearers will be Herman Kampsen, Joe Mohs, Reuben Gerding, Bill Zenzen, Larry Marthaler, and Orville Vangstad.
