Anthony R. "Tony" Zilka., age 93, of Sauk Centre, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, surrounded by his family at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating.
Visitation and celebration of life will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
Anthony Raymond "Tony" Zilka was born on May 14, 1918 in Little Falls Minnesota to Frank and Nettie (Drellack) Zilka. He married Genevieve Super on October 23, 1941 in Flensburg, Minnesota. Tony worked most of his life as a carpenter.
Tony was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Carpenter Union 1644. He enjoyed hunting in Montana, Wyoming and Minnesota and fishing every year in Canada. He also enjoyed dancing and playing cards and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Zilka of Sauk Centre; 1 son Marvin (Rita) Zilka of Sauk Centre; 1 grandson Mark Anthony (Sharon) Farley-Zilka of Tuscon, Arizona; 3 great grandchildren, Mauraya, Lainey and Anthony Robert Zilka; sister, Martha Hayes of Delano; brother, Edward (Joan) Zilka of St. Louis Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister, Johanne Zyvoloski, Alois Zilka, Joseph Zilka, Henry Zilka, Angeline Zilka, Ernest Zilka, Marion Potvin and Lawrence Zilka.
