Annella M. Thull, age 81 of Greenwald, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 23 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Jeff Ethen officiating and Rev. Omar Guanchez concelebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers and Daughters of Isabella at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Annella Marie Thull was born December 3, 1929 in Watkins, Minnesota to Bernard and Loretta (Schreiner) Schwartz. She attended school through the sixth grade and helped raise her younger siblings. Annella also was a nanny in the Twin Cities. On July 24, 1956 she married Linus Thull in St. Nicholas, Minnesota. She was a homemaker for most of her life and has been a resident of Greenwald for the past 40 years.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Greenwald, Christian Mothers, and the Daughter of Isabella Joan of Arc Circle. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and writing letters to her family members.
Survivors include her husband, Linus Thull of Greenwald; children, Wayne Thull of Greenwald, Darlene (Patrick) Callahan of Baltimore, Maryland, Elaine (Tyler) Bradley of Eaton, Colorado, Connie (Mike) Callahan of Oswego, New York, Deloris (Jim) Bosshardt of Tacoma, Washington, Doris (Rick) Anderstedt of Clearwater, James (Sheri) Thull of Greenwald, and David (Krista) Thull of Maple Grove; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Clarence (Annella) Schwartz of St. Cloud, Ray (Jean) Schwartz of St. Cloud, Vonnie (Bob) Luken of Yankton, South Dakota, Rosie (Tony) Thull of Meire Grove, Teresa Lutgen of Littleton, Colorado, Judy (Rich) Chirhart of St. Cloud, Letty Meyer of St. Cloud, Mary (Louie) Bemboom of Lindsay, California, and Lori Taufen of Oak Park Heights.
Annella was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister, Bud Schwartz, Ronald Schwartz, Bernard Schwartz, Nicholas Schwartz, Alvin Schwartz, and Mitzie Thull.
Serving as casket bearers will be Michael Bosshardt, Aaron Callahan, Mike Thull, Desiree Bradley, Bob Thull, and Lisa Thull. Cross bearer will be Jenna Bosshardt and scripture bearer will be Elizabeth Anderstedt. Gift bearers will be Sydney Thull, Gabriella Thull, and Terra Anderstedt.
