Annella "Nellie" Blaske, age 81, of Sauk Centre, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at her son's home in Sauk Centre, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.

Nellie Doege was born April 4, 1930 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota to Paul and Coletta (Miller) Doege. Nellie married Martin Blaske on September 22, 1949 in Sauk Centre. They resided in Silver Lake, Minnesota for 39 years. Nellie was employed for 20 years at Tonka Toys of Mound and 10 years at Fluroware of Chaska retiring on March 30, 1993. She returned to Sauk Centre in 1995. Nellie enjoyed embroidery, puzzles, biking, traveling and gardening.

Nellie was a member of the Congregational Church of Silver Lake, Minnesota.

Survivors include her children, Katherine (Larry) Fasenmyer of Peoria, Arizona, Rebecca (Joe) Telfair of St. Cloud, Ann (Duane) Lembcke of Sartell, and Curt (Monica) Blaske of Sauk Centre; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Ethun of Sauk Centre, Ione (Ray) Dickhaus of Alexandria; and brother, Paul (Mary) Doege of Brooklyn Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; parents; brothers, Vernon Doege and Pete Doege. Serving as casket bearers will be Isaac Blaske, Logan Blaske, Travis Lembcke, Nathan Lembcke, Andy Telfair, and Erin Telfair.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Michael's Hospice.
