Anna M. Speldrich, age 90 of Elrosa, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Rev. Richard Leisen will officiate with interment following in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Christian Mothers will pray at 5 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6 p.m. and Catholic Aid and Daughters of Isabella at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Anna Speldrich was born May 12, 1915 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Edward and Anna (Woeste) Weinmann. On January 22, 1934 she married John "Hans" Speldrich at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. The couple farmed in the Elrosa area until 1956 when the moved to Elrosa. There they owned and operated Hans' and Annie's Café and Bakery for 18 years. Anna was also employed as a cook at the Belgrade Nursing Home for 13 years and was a priest's housekeeper for two and one-half years.

She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, Crosier Apostolate of Onamia, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) and Catholic Aid Society.

Survivors include her son, John (Alma) Speldrich, Jr. of Palm Springs, California; five grandchildren, Bernie (Keith) Morrison, Joachim (Kelly) Speldrich, Marie (John) Illies, John (Mary) Speldrich and Mark (Michelle) Speldrich; granddaughter-in-law, Mary Ann Speldrich; 17 great-grandchildren, Nick and Mike Speldrich, Jennifer and Paul Morrison, Joachim, Zachary and Jolina Speldrich, Carrie, Nicole, Kristy, David and Daniel Illies, Erin, Ethan and Eric Speldrich, Sean and Shayla Speldrich; two great-great-grandchildren, Ty and Justin; brothers and sisters, Albert (Bernice) Weinmann of Long Prairie, Deloris Schieman of Cold Spring, Regina Felling of Elrosa, George (Florence) Weinmann of Richmond, Joseph (Marie) Weinmann of Elrosa, Jerry (Bertha) Weinmann of Watkins and Alice Schmitz of Willmar; brother-in-law, Clarence Kampsen of Elrosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John "Hans" Speldrich on November 7, 1990 at age 91; two grandchildren, Alma Speldrich at age 17 and Gerald Speldrich at age 47; two twin-brothers who died at birth; sister, Ledwina Kampsen; three brothers-in-law, Norbert Schmitz, Leander Schiemann and Walter Felling.

Serving as casket bearers will be Joachim, Eric, Ethan and Sean Speldrich, Daniel and David Illies. Serving as cross bearer will be Bernadette Morrison, bread bearer will be Jolina Speldrich, gift bearers will be Shayla and Erin Speldrich, Jennifer and Paul Morrison, servers will be Mike and Zachary Speldrich and Kristy Illies and readers will be Carrie and Nicole Illies. Honorary bearers will be members of the Christian Mothers.
