Anna A. Roerick, age 95, of Melrose, died June 4, 2006 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in St. Francis with Rev. Ronald Schmelzer and Rev. Art Hoppe concelebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Francis, Minnesota. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by Christian Mothers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Anna Roerick was born April 11, 1911 in Krain Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Kathrine (Fichtinger) Thell. She married Conrad H. Roerick on Oct. 8, 1946 in St. Anthony, Minnesota. They farmed on the family farm for many years. Anna enjoyed quilting, playing cards, canning, baking, gardening, farming, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Francis of Assisi Mission Group, Christian Mothers, and the sewing circle.
Survivors include her children, Eugene Roerick (Susan) of Champlin, and JoAnn Gomer (Norb) of Chaska; four grandchildren and six, soon to be eight, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Conrad H. "Rocky" Roerick on Sept. 16, 2000; brothers and sisters, John and Martin Thell, and Brother Stephen Thell, OSB; Rose Beuning, Barbara Ballman, Mary Sinderman and Lena Holbauer; and one grandson, Jason Roerick.
Casket bearers will be Jeff Roerick, Matt and Becky Gomer, Angela Guyer, Steve Thiel, and Richard Roerick. Serving as cross bearer will be Collin LaFrance. The scripture bearer will be Cathy Jesok. Honorary bearers will be Afton, Dayton and Blake Guyer, and Avery Roerick.
