Anna M. "Ann" Rademacher, age 92, of Melrose, died peacefully, Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Melrose Area Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Elrosa, with Rev. Jeff Ethan and Rev. Ken Thielman officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. a.m. Friday at the church in Elrosa. Christian Mothers will pray at 7:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.
Anna Rademacher was born September 22, 1912 in Freeport, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Woeste) Beste. She married Anton M. "Tony" Rademacher on May 9, 1933 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Freeport. They farmed near Elrosa until 1971 when they retired and moved to Elrosa. They then resided at Park View Center from 1991 until they moved to Pine Villa Care Center in 2003.
Ann was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Elrosa, Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid Society. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking lemon pies, making popcorn balls and quilting. She especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Anton Rademacher of Melrose; children, Carol Peters of West St. Paul, Curtis Rademacher (Rita) of Dayton, Dale Rademacher (Jane) of Sauk Centre, Lowell Rademacher of Marshall, and Keith Rademacher (Judy) of Hutchinson; son-in-law, Harold Engel of Winsted; daughter-in-law, Barbara Rademacher of Sauk Centre; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Liane Engel and Junior Rademacher; son-in-law, James "Jim" Peters; brothers and sisters, Leo, Edward, Otto, Henry, Oswald, and Jerome Beste, Mathilda Korf, Clara Beste, Sister Humitas Beste, OSF, Sophie Schulte, Dorothy Beste, Sister Alma Beste, OSF.
Casket bearers will be David Peters, Mike, Wade, Christopher, Kent, Brian, and Gary Rademacher, and Pat Engel. Cross bearer will be Alicia Rademacher. Scripture bearer will be Lori L'Hommedieu. Honorary bearers will be Christian Mothers.
Memorials are preferred to: Pine Villa Activity Center.
